Ten Things About Me (And Welcome!)

Welcome to my Blog!

This is a personal experiment and you are invited to observe, make notes, come to your own conclusions... you get the drift. I just want to write, be it blogging, writing fiction, writing poems or even writing letters, all I want to do is write.

This is the place I will be visiting daily (hopefully) to express what's on my mind, what I'm enjoying at the moment, what I'm reading, where I'm going... basically the never-ending stream of consciousness that pours from my brain and usually has nowhere else to go. How exciting!

All joking aside, I would hope my ranting brings a little smile or a laugh and maybe a tiny little sprinkle of enlightenment every now and then to those who want a temporary escape from their own lives which if we're honest, is what everyone needs now and again.

P.S. Don't take me seriously, this is just for practise!! Enjoy...

Ten Totally Interesting Things You Need To Know... About Me.

1] I drink too much tea. It's just a true fact that I do. I'm Irish and I'm typically Irish along with that, so yes copious amounts of tea is consumed when I'm around. If you invite me over and you have no caffeine in the house I will conclude that you are trying to kill me...

2] I believe in Angels. Do you ever get that feeling that someone is watching over you or that some mystical being has intervened on your behalf at the last minute and turned a particular situation on its head, resulting in a much better outcome than if you had carried on the way you were going? Well I get those all the time and the more I look into it the more I believe that it's Angels, and they watch over every one of us all the time. I'm trying to learn to let them in and ask for their help more often and honestly I'm starting to see results. More about that in another blog post!

3] YouTube! I'm addicted. I started watching danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil about three years ago and I became hooked immediately! Before we go any further, if you're not a Phan that's ok you should still carry on reading, (but Phans get extra lovage from me because, well, y'know, we are Phamily...?) Anyway. I will watch all kinds of YouTubers and I give everyone a fair chance as there are a lot of unique people out there with something interesting to say, so yes YouTube is one of my favourite online places to browse around in.

4] On a more serious note, I experience anxiety on pretty much a daily basis. Hopefully some of you can relate, and if you can't that's even better because it means you are blessed with mental stability (probably). This is an area of my life I'm working on and I just want to say to any individual reading this who might be going through the same thing that you aren't alone, you're not weird, and you can still live a fulfilling life if you learn how to cope with your anxiety just a little bit better. Again, this is another topic for another blog post which I will definitely talk about at some point.

5] I'm an Owl. I haven't yet mastered the art of rotating my head 270 degrees though that would be an awesome Halloween party trick, but nonetheless I am definitely an Owl. I stay up all night and I love the dark and I like going out at night more than going out during the day and... I want to slide down the Owl slide at the Howlter residence. Yep, I'm definitely an Owl.

6] I have never broken a bone. Have you broken any bones in your lifetime? Luckily I've never done anything dangerous enough to risk breaking anything as I was so sheltered as a child I wasn't even allowed to join gymnastics for fear of hurting myself, so these days I live out my acrobatic dreams by... doing Yoga (which by the way is very good for the bones). Really though, I'm grateful I've never broken anything because those things take far too long to heal!

7] My favourite TV shows and films to watch are those with a strong female character, someone with real gumption who is not afraid of the world. I'm giving Legally Blonde as an example that we all know, because it just goes to show that one person can really break through barriers that others put up in front of them, and to me that is an important thing to be able to do. I find it inspiring and I take comfort in the fact that there are real people in the world who might feel they are going through this exact type of transformation in their life and honestly, so am I.

8] When I was young I wanted to be a photographer! I got my first camera when I was about eight or nine years of age and it came with a book on how to do all these little tricks with the background and I really had such fun with it. I remember the camera was yellow with a black wrist strap which used to remind me of the sun and every time I carried it around I felt I had literal sunshine in my hands. What a positive little thing I was! Over the years photographs became less of an interest to me as I became rather camera shy, but gladly I now think I'm ready to dive back in.

9] London is my favourite place that I have visited. I've been there once, and admittedly I haven't travelled to many places in the world but there was just something about London that I really connected with. The people were so diverse as was the food, the music, the shops and I just felt like there was something for everyone. I enjoy reading about London too as I plan to go back there one day and want to know everything there is to know about the place. Fingers crossed!

10] Pasta is my favourite food. I would live solely on pasta if I needed to and would gladly have it for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert!! Ok maybe I'm exaggerating but really... I need to go make some right now!

So I hope this was a sufficient welcome/introduction to me and my blog and well, the ramblings in my head and if you weren't painfully bored then please leave a comment and tell me what you thought. I will be talking about anything and everything that I find interesting and as I mentioned previously, don't take me too seriously as this basically just a hobby!!

Thank you for reading, congratulations you made it to the end! See you soon!
